Every team has one guy who does everything nobody else wants to do. Dale Friskey did all of it. Twice.

Blocked shots with his shins. Killed penalties with his face. Fought guys six inches taller because they
looked at Laser wrong. His nose had been broken so many times the team doctor stopped resetting it and just said "it's got character now." His face looked like a road map of every corner battle in ACHL history.

Murdoch once called him "the most important player nobody's ever heard of." A reporter asked Friskey what his role on the team was. He said: "I go where it hurts and I stay there." That quote ran on the front page of the Courant sports section.

After the '84 Finals loss, when the reporter asked him how it felt, he said: "I'm not pretty. But I'm
a Beauty." It became the franchise's most famous line. They put it on a t-shirt. He didn't get a cut.
